Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Southwark is currently running a tender for the "Primary Schools in to Theatre" programme, aimed at providing every primary child in the borough a free visit to the theatre annually. The procurement process is in the Tender stage, with applications open until 28 June 2019. The project falls under the services category, particularly focusing on educational services, and has a total contract value of £500,000. Interested bidders should note that the contract is scheduled to commence on 22 July 2019 and will run until 31 March 2022. An open day event will take place on 3 June 2019 at Southwark Council Offices to provide further details and facilitate one-on-one discussions with the Culture Team.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in educational services, theatre productions, or community engagement initiatives. Organisations that specialise in engaging with children and educational institutions, particularly those that can develop meaningful partnerships with Southwark theatres, would be well-suited to compete. The initiative not only aligns with the council's cultural strategy, Creative Southwark, but also seeks to create lasting relationships between schools and theatres, providing a platform for ongoing growth and community involvement.
