Summary of the contracting process

The public procurement process involves the establishment of a multi-Provider Framework Agreement for reactive and planned maintenance and project works managed by The Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire. This procurement falls under the heating-plant repair and maintenance work industry category, with additional classifications including electrical and mechanical building installations maintenance services. The procurement is being carried out under the Open Procedure, allowing any interested party to submit a bid. The framework agreement's tendering stage has completed, and the contract period is set from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2029 for some suppliers, and from 4th November 2025 to 3rd November 2029 for others. The total framework is valued at £5,000,000 GBP, and it facilitates purchases from organisations such as Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Authority and DPLP LLP, with services extending across the United Kingdom and other specified regions.

This framework agreement offers substantial opportunities for businesses involved in repair and maintenance services, particularly those specialising in roof, heating, gas appliance, boiler, and building installation maintenance. Given the inclusivity of the Open Procedure, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate and secure contracts under the framework, although contracts will primarily comprise sub-sectional call-offs rather than exclusive agreements. Businesses experienced in delivering large-scale reactive and planned maintenance works are well equipped to compete and grow by providing services to notable entities like police and fire authorities across various geographical locations. The framework presents a favourable prospect for business growth through sustained engagement over its four-year duration.
