Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "Fire Doors Inspection and Maintenance PMA" has been conducted by the Kent and Medway Towns Fire Authority, focusing on essential maintenance services for fire doors across their estate in Kent. The procurement is categorised under services, specifically targeting "Repair and maintenance services of building installations". The tender has been completed, having started with an open procurement method and included a competitive selection of suppliers. The significant contract for Lot 2 was awarded to Hollmark Ltd, with a contract value of approximately £181,089, initiated on 31 December 2021, with a potential maximum duration of four years due to extension options.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in fire safety, preventive maintenance, and service provision within the construction domain, particularly those experienced in servicing public facilities. Given the scale of the job, firms with capabilities in fire door inspection and compliance with safety regulations will find themselves well-suited for future contracts. Businesses looking to engage in this sector should consider their credentials and experience, especially in relation to health and safety standards and sustainable practices, to effectively compete in forthcoming procurement opportunities.
