Summary of the contracting process

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is conducting a procurement process for the manufacture and delivery of vehicle ballistic glass, essential for fitting on their Armoured fleet vehicles. This tender, classified under the goods category with the CPV code 14820000, has reached the award stage as of June 28, 2021, although the initial procurement process is described as being completed. The contract is valued at £1,000,000 and is set for a duration of three years, with the possibility of extensions up to 24 months. Businesses interested in this tender should note that the procurement method used was selective, adhering to a restricted procedure under the legal basis of CELEX ID 32014L0024.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in manufacturing security and defence equipment. Companies experienced in high-quality glass production and those capable of meeting strict quality control standards will find themselves well positioned to compete. As a competitive selection process is anticipated, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to consider submitting tenders, especially those familiar with public sector contracts and the necessary compliance for delivering security-related products. The successful contractor will be closely monitored to ensure adherence to quality and service delivery standards, creating a pathway for future contracts within similar domains if performance is satisfactory.
