Summary of the contracting process

The North Yorkshire County Council is currently initiating the tender process for the "Automated Highway Asset Surveys and Data Collection Framework". This framework, classified under the IT services industry, aims to enable automatic collection and analysis of carriageway condition data. The procurement process employs an open procedure and is now in the planning stage. Notably, the framework has an estimated maximum value of £4,000,000 and includes a 10-day standstill period following the award decision to allow for any appeals. The framework is designed to benefit multiple contracting authorities across Yorkshire, including Leeds City Council and the City of York Council.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in IT services, particularly those involved in consulting, software development, and support. Companies that can provide innovative solutions for data collection and analysis of highway conditions would be particularly well-suited to compete. With a competitive bidding environment and the availability for multiple authorities to utilise the framework, businesses have a chance to establish long-term relationships within the regional public sector, contributing to growth and diversification of their service offerings.
