GMCA & TfGM require a highly reliable, fault tolerant and scalable Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) system to meet the initial and future voice and low volume data communications joint needs of the TfGM Bus and Tram operations. The Bus network for the Greater Manchester area, are being brought under local control and will be run by TfGM, on behalf of GMCA.

The Bus network for the Greater Manchester area, are being brought under local control and will be run by TfGM, on behalf of GMCA. TfGM of behalf of GMCA, will undertake an Open Procurement and appoint a single Service Provider to design, build, support and maintain the TfGM DMR System. The initial contract duration would be 84 months, with 2 extensions available the duration of the first extension is for 24 months and the second is a 12-month extension.
