Summary of the contracting process

Coventry University is engaged in a public procurement process to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for minor works and maintenance services. This procurement process includes a diverse range of services under multiple lots, grouped mainly as fire doors, fire stopping, painting and decorating, and various minor new works. These include internal and external alterations, as well as structural repairs. The DPS is an active initiative commencing since 2nd October 2023, with the tender stage ongoing, set to be in effect until 1st October 2027. The process adheres to the selective procurement method, employing a restricted procedure, under the current legal framework of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The services will be performed across various regions within the United Kingdom, with Coventry University located in Coventry, UK, as the central hub of operations.

This procurement offers substantial opportunities for a wide range of businesses specializing in repair and maintenance services, particularly those with capabilities in fire safety measures, structural enhancements, and general refurbishment. SMEs are likely to find this tender appealing due to the diverse lots available, providing the flexibility to specialise in areas such as fire door installation, fire stopping solutions, or comprehensive refurbishment tasks. The use of a DPS allows multiple suppliers to be engaged, facilitating inclusivity and providing prospective firms the potential to forge long-term relationships with a leading educational institution. Such engagements can elevate a company's profile and present substantial potential for scalable business growth.
