Summary of the contracting process

The Public Health Wales NHS Trust is currently in the planning phase for a tender to establish a Patient Administration System (PAS) for a Lung Cancer Screening Programme in Wales. This procurement is categorised under IT services, software package, and information systems, and is situated in Cardiff, United Kingdom. Key dates include a deadline for expressing interest and requesting documents by 12pm on 17th September 2025, with completed submissions due by 5pm on 18th September 2025. This early stage of market engagement aims to explore solutions to support programme activities from participant identification to results processing, with an anticipated hosting within a public cloud data centre.

This tender presents a significant growth opportunity for businesses in the IT services sector, particularly those specialising in patient-administration systems. Companies with expertise in managed service solutions, as well as robust cloud-based system deployments, are well-positioned to compete. The project offers a chance to collaborate with a central government public authority under Welsh devolved regulations, with potential for an extensive contract period starting from October 2027. Firms capable of delivering comprehensive IT consultancy, software development, and support services are ideal contenders for this procurement process.
