Summary of the contracting process

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is overseeing a procurement process for an MRI Managed Equipment Service, intending to cover the support and maintenance of MRI machines and hard facilities management of the MRI building. The procurement, under the category of repair and maintenance services, is divided into two lots and is executed through an open procedure. The Trust, located at Croydon University Hospital in Croydon, United Kingdom, announced the tender, with significant submissions ending on 17th November 2025. Key deadlines include the award period ending on 28th January 2026 and the contract commencing on 1st April 2026, with a six-year term thereafter, extendable by two additional years.

This tender presents a considerable opportunity for businesses specialising in the maintenance of medical equipment and facilities management. Small and medium enterprises may find it particularly advantageous, given the procurement criteria emphasising technical expertise, commercial viability, and social value. Companies with experience in comparable services and capable of absorbing the residual asset values linked to the equipment and building will be highly eligible. Successful bidders may influence the overall contract value, especially if external funding alters asset values, providing potential to enhance service scope and maintain competitive market positions.
