Summary of the contracting process

Impact Multi Academy Trust (IMAT), a public authority operating eight schools across the London region, has completed the award stage of its landscaping services procurement under the Procurement Act 2023. The tender, conducted via a competitive flexible procedure, invited bids for the provision of landscaping and grounds maintenance services over a contract period starting on 1st August 2026 and ending on 31st July 2029, with options for extension up to 2031. The procurement is valued at approximately £700,000 over the potential five-year term. JC Landscapes Ltd, based in Orpington, has been awarded the contract, expected to start pending completion of all formalities by 24th July 2026. A site survey and bidders’ conference preceded the finalisation of the award, ensuring comprehensive preparation and understanding of the project's scope.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses with expertise in delivering quality landscaping services, particularly those familiar with educational or similar environments, as the scope covers maintenance across multiple school sites. A strong track record in service delivery, qualification, experience, and a demonstrable approach to managing such projects are crucial criteria. While JC Landscapes Ltd secured the initial award, the flexible extension clauses built into the contract could allow for further business opportunities, offering stability and growth potential for businesses adept at managing long-term contracts with public entities. Companies aiming for future procurement opportunities may benefit from engaging with this sector, particularly in regions like London, where a range of service requirements provide ongoing business potential.
