Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Harrow is inviting tenders for the "Fencing, Gates, Security Assets & Ancillary Groundworks" open framework contract. This procurement focuses on providing comprehensive fencing installation, maintenance, security work, welding/fabrication, and associated groundworks services across various sites such as parks, open spaces, cemeteries, allotments, car parks, and highway boundaries within Harrow. The procurement process is at the tender stage, utilising an open procedure under the legal basis of the UKPGA 2023/54. The estimated contract value is £2.4 million, with the procurement aimed at creating a flexible, responsive service capable of handling the varied infrastructure needs identified.

This tender presents growth opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those experienced in construction, security infrastructure, and groundworks. Given the requirement for quick response capabilities, regionally based companies can leverage their proximity for operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The framework offers an eight-year term with potential extensions, making it an attractive long-term opportunity for businesses able to deliver high-quality services across multiple categories such as fencing installation, security repairs, and emergency response measures. The council's open framework allows suppliers to compete based on quality and price, thus fostering fair competition and broadening business prospects within the region.
