Summary of the contracting process

The District Council of Tandridge is preparing for a forthcoming procurement exercise focused on domestic gas servicing, maintenance, repair, and installation services across its housing stock and related assets, as outlined in their preliminary market engagement notice. This procurement is taking place under the Procurement Act 2023, with an open procedure planned to ensure a single-stage tender process. Businesses interested in participating should note the scheduled pre-market engagement deadline on 7th April 2026. With key services spanning heating systems, compliance activities, and carbon monoxide safety measures, the procurement will cover the locality of Oxted, United Kingdom, under the industry category of repair and maintenance services (CPV codes 50720000 and related). The contract period is anticipated to begin on 3rd August 2026 and potentially extend until 1st August 2031.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses involved in gas fitting, heating-plant repair, and maintenance services. Enterprises that focus on innovative service delivery and possess expertise in planned preventative maintenance, emergency call-out services, and compliance reporting would be well-suited to compete. The council emphasises resident safety, service quality, and social value delivery, offering a chance to support SME growth through local employment and community development initiatives. Contracts are designed to accommodate businesses with robust quality assurance processes, workforce training, and a readiness to adapt to low-carbon heating technologies. Business growth is further enabled by flexible service delivery models and viable options for contract duration and extension, promoting scalability in alignment with current legislation and best practice guidance.
