The tender, titled "Lift Maintenance and Installation Framework Agreement," falls under the services category and is divided into four lots: East and West Edinburgh maintenance, citywide lift installation, and citywide stairlift installation and maintenance, ensuring comprehensive coverage for their diverse property portfolio. The process is currently at the tender stage, with an updated submission deadline of 28 May 2026 due to recent amendments. This open procurement method aims to appoint multiple contractors, offering a flexible and resilient approach to service delivery in accordance with CELEX Directive 32014L0024. The framework's design to include multiple contractors serves to increase competitive equality and allows for a broad participation scope. Suitable entities would include SMEs, social enterprises, and larger firms that can demonstrate financial stability and technical proficiency, particularly those aligned with the Council's sustainable procurement goals. The substantial contract value of £12 million GBP enhances potential economic gains, with an emphasis on technical quality and competitive pricing.
