Summary of the contracting process

In London, the Borough of Tower Hamlets is planning a procurement process to establish new sports facilities at King Edward VII Memorial Park. The initiative is in the planning stage and aims to bolster sports infrastructure with a 3G artificial turf pitch, two padel tennis courts, a cricket practice net, and a Multi-Use Games Area. The project falls under the recreational, cultural, and sporting services category, with construction work commencing in December 2026 and concluding in September 2027. A market engagement session is scheduled for 30 June 2026, with registration required by 19 June 2026, providing potential suppliers an opportunity to express interest and gain insights into the procurement dynamics. The planned procurement is valued at approximately £1,140,000.

This tender presents a promising opportunity for businesses in the construction and sports facilities sectors, particularly those specialising in sports goods and equipment. With an emphasis on SME suitability, it is well-positioned to attract smaller enterprises aiming to expand their portfolio in delivering high-quality recreational infrastructure. Businesses that can design, supply, and install sports facilities while meeting the Council's specifications will find this a conducive venture for growth. Interested providers are encouraged to participate in the engagement session to better understand the Council's objectives and preparation for forthcoming tenders.
