Summary of the contracting process

This public procurement process is conducted by APUC Limited, headquartered in Stirling, United Kingdom. The tender, titled "Janitorial Products," falls under the goods category with a specific focus on cleaning products, to be supplied to the Scottish Higher Education (HE) and Further Education (FE) sector, and other public sector entities across Scotland. The process is currently at the tender stage, with the submission deadline set for 26th June 2026. This procurement utilises an open procedure, inviting multiple potential suppliers, with a scope spanning various CPV classified products such as toilet paper, detergents, and sanitary products, among others. The total contract value is anticipated to be approximately £17.9 million, with community benefits such as apprenticeships and training opportunities integrated into the framework agreement.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the janitorial and cleaning products industry to secure a steady revenue stream over a two-year contract period, extendable by an additional two years subject to performance. Businesses with the capability to supply a minimum percentage of items from a core product list and those with a commitment to social, ethical, and environmental practices are particularly well-positioned to benefit. The inclusion of community benefits as a requirement also opens doors for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local suppliers who demonstrate strong social value propositions. By engaging in this procurement process, businesses can align themselves with APUC Limited, fostering growth within the public education sectors and potentially setting the stage for long-term partnerships.
