Summary of the contracting process

Powys County Council procured fire-door inspections, remedial work and replacements across its housing and corporate properties throughout Powys. The four lots separated corporate-property remedials and replacements in North and South Powys from housing-property inspections, remedials and replacements in those two areas. Awards were dated 22 October 2026; contracts were scheduled to start on 1 December 2026 and run to 30 November 2029, with an option to extend by up to 24 months at the Council’s discretion. The tender used an open procedure. Each lot was evaluated on quality (60%) and cost (40%); economic and technical selection criteria also applied. Lot 1 - North Powys Corporate Properties Fire Door Remedials & Replacements

This Lot relates to fire door remedial works and replacements across corporate properties in North Powys. The scope includes remedials and replacement of fire doors identified as non-compliant through inspections or fire risk assessments, together with associated certification and making good works, to ensure ongoing fire safety compliance.

Renewal: The Contract is intended to be awarded for an initial term of three years, with the possibility, at the Authority's discretion, of extending the Contract for up to a further 24 months. The maximum potential contract duration is therefore up to five years.

Lot 2 - South Powys Corporate Properties Fire Door Remedials & Replacements

This Lot relates to fire door remedial works and replacements across corporate properties in South Powys. The scope includes remedials and replacement of fire doors identified as non-compliant through inspections or fire risk assessments, together with associated certification and making good works, to ensure ongoing fire safety compliance.

Renewal: The Contract is intended to be awarded for an initial term of three years, with the possibility, at the Authority's discretion, of extending the Contract for up to a further 24 months. The maximum potential contract duration is therefore up to five years.
