Summary of the contracting process

Isle of Anglesey County Council is in the planning stage to procure and implement a modern, integrated case management system for its Public Protection Service. This system aims to replace the existing platform and enhance the handling of statutory and national returns, including matters related to food safety, health and safety, and environmental permits. The procurement is classified under the services category and will utilize the ‘tender’ initiation type. The procurement process, which is above the threshold and open to SMEs, has a planned contract period from 1st April 2027 to 31st March 2032, with potential extensions up to 2035. Key dates include 13th July 2026 for engagement sessions arrangement deadline, with the market engagement session scheduled for 16th July 2026, and the future notice is expected by 1st September 2026.

This tender offers a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in software packages and IT services, particularly those involved in consulting, software development, and support, to expand their portfolio within the public sector. The requirement for a robust system that supports various statutory compliance activities suggests a tailor-made solution, which could be ideal for businesses that focus on developing integrated and scalable software solutions. Moreover, SMEs with capabilities in managing complex system implementations and offering comprehensive support services might find this project well-suited to expand their market presence, especially within the Welsh public sector landscape.
