Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Wales Performance and Improvement, hosted by Public Health Wales NHS Trust, has initiated a planning process for the development of a Telehealth Adoption Framework under the procuring entity NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, focusing on market engagement to gather insights from suppliers. This engagement aims to inform the design and implementation of telehealth services encompassing digital technologies for various healthcare needs. Events are scheduled for 1st, 7th, and 10th September 2026 in Cardiff, UK, with a deadline for written submissions on 18th September 2026. This opportunity does not yet constitute a formal procurement process, indicating future strategising activities.

This initiative provides significant business growth opportunities for firms in software, medical equipment, and IT services, specifically those with expertise in telehealth solutions. SMEs are particularly encouraged to participate, given the need for innovative digital solutions that align with NHS standards and public sector requirements. Engaging in this process allows businesses to contribute to shaping future telehealth frameworks and potentially secure future contracts. The framework seeks to leverage market insights to guide strategic telehealth adoption across NHS Wales, presenting ample avenues for sectoral collaboration and development.
