Summary of the contracting process

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is procuring works to refurbish the play areas at Barnford Park in Oldbury. The requirement covers removing or refurbishing old play areas and associated surfaces, equipment and fencing; hard and soft landscaping; installing new play equipment and safety surfaces; and associated tarmac, fencing and painting works. Safety surfaces must comply with the specifications and BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177 standards. Because quality accounts for 40% of the evaluation, delivery approach and technical competence will matter alongside price.
