Green Recovery - Port Talbot Multi-storey Car Park 'Living Wall'
Notice Description
Neath Port Talbot Council have been issued with a 'Green Recovery' fund provided by Welsh Government which aim is to tackle inequalities and make local authorities look at innovative ways to provide solutions that would be beneficial to nature and to the residents of the county borough. The creation of a 'Living Wall' on Port Talbot multi-storey Car Park intends to tackle the issues of 'heat island' effect, air and noise pollution as well as provide a habitat for wildlife. It would also provide a more pleasing, 'greener' facade to properties overlooking the area as well as to visitors to the shopping centre. The project seeks to procure a contractor to design, construct and deliver a 'living wall' (also often referred to as 'green wall') on part of the car park facade directly adjacent to the M4 motorway and we are therefore inviting for quotations. This project will serve as a pilot example of best practice to demonstrate that green infrastructure can fulfil multiple functions and deliver multiple benefits. The successful contractor will deliver a 'living wall' over the period October 2023 to March 2024.Please contact Marie Fowler, Green Infrastructure Officer, for full details and tender documentation at m.fowler@npt.gov.ukDeadline for receipt of Tender is 14:00 on 15th September 2023. (WA Ref:133746)The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
