Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is conducting the Scottish 4G Infill Programme: Capital Funded Mast Deployment Project, aimed at enhancing 4G-LTE coverage in remote and rural areas of Scotland. This open procurement process allows for a total funding of £25 million, supported by grants from the European Regional Development Fund and the Scottish Government. The project features a build period anticipated to conclude by 31 March 2022, followed by a service period of seven years. Key contact for this project is Anamaria Rehbein, reachable via email at anamaria.rehbein@gov.scot. The tender submission deadline was on 18 May 2018 at 12:00 PM.

This project presents substantial opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses involved in telecommunications, construction, and infrastructure development. Companies that specialise in the deployment of telecommunications infrastructure, such as wireless masts, are highly suited to participate. Furthermore, small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and social enterprises are encouraged to engage, especially given the focus on sustainable procurement and community benefits, including recruitment and training initiatives for the long-term unemployed in collaboration with local educational establishments.
