Summary of the contracting process

The Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association is currently engaged in the procurement of a Fire Systems Maintenance Contract, aimed at maintaining fire detection and extinguishing systems across its housing stock in Scotland. This contract, classified under the housing and community amenities sector, is notably structured into two lots: Lot 1 covering North Scotland and Lot 2 covering South Scotland. The procurement is at the award stage as of 31st July 2019, with contracts already awarded to Fortress Security Ltd for Lot 2 and Moray Fire Protection Limited for Lot 1, each contract having been valued at £78,627 and £25,264.80 respectively. The procurement process followed an open competitive method and included significant requirements related to quality and safety standards.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialised in fire safety and maintenance services, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that hold the necessary certifications and experience in this sector. Companies that can demonstrate compliance with health and safety regulations, along with having a strong track record in fire systems maintenance, would be well-suited to compete in these types of contracts. Furthermore, the potential for renewal of contracts after the initial two-year term offers a valuable long-term business prospect for successful bidders.
