Notice Description

North Ayrshire Council are seeking a suitably qualified contractor to undertake all permanent and temporary works associated with the design, construction, testing and commissioning of a proposed Urban Traffic Control system (UTC) with bus priority at 12 traffic signal locations throughout North Ayrshire. (Various locations along the A737 between Irvine and Kilwinning). The successful contractor will be responsible for completing the works. NOTE: This project is for work packages up to 500,000 GBP. Funding has been approved up to 250,000 GBP. The 'z' clause within the contract will allow for a reduced scope of works if the additional funding is not available. The reduced scope of works is subject to funding been available from the 1 April 2020 - this will be confirmed in February 2020.

This requirement is for; Supply and implementation of a new hosted UTC system with bus priority (conforming to RTIG T031 Protocol V1 and V1.1) with HTML5 UTC-UX interface, or similar approved by NAC, including o Licence and Maintenance Contract for the hosted UTC system (manage software). o Formal in-house Training to be provided for the above during the initial stages of system set up, for a minimum of 10 people. o All permanent Civil Engineering works associated with the design, construction, testing and commissioning of proposed traffic signal upgrades at 12 site locations within North Ayrshire. The works generally will include; o Temporary traffic management o Liaison with statutory utility providers o General site clearance of the site to provide the works including traffic island and footway removal, planning of existing carriageway o Disposal of excess or unsuitable material offsite o Pavement construction associated with installation of new traffic signal equipment o Road signage, utilities, ducting and landscaping o Traffic signal equipment provision, installation and testing North Ayrshire Council would like to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to carry out this work.. This project is for work packages up to 500,000GBP. Funding has been approved up to 250,000GBP. Confirmation of additional 250,000GBP funding to be confirmed in Feb 2020. Contract duration for completion of full project to be up to 19 weeks. The 'z' clause within the contract allows for reduced scope of works if additional funding not available. Reduced scope of works duration to 8 weeks.
