Notice Description

Marine Scotland invites bids for the purchase of 69khz acoustic tags.Marine Scotland Science is conducting a study examining salmon post-smolt movements in a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland using 69khz acoustic tags.The study will use Thelma Biotel acoustic receivers (TBR 700) strategically placed near rivers and loch pinch points to examine salmon and sea trout smolt migratory behaviours. In addition to tags, there is a requirement for sentinel tags transmitting 69khz to determine receiver/ tag efficiency over time. This study will build on previous acoustic tracking studies conducted in the loch.
