Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is planning a procurement contract for Livestock Traceability and Health Services under the general public services category. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a Request for Information (RFI) set to be published on 17 September 2025. This contract will involve managing an online database for livestock records in the UKM region, headquartered in Glasgow. Businesses interested have until 5 August 2025 to submit responses to the prior information notice (PIN) questionnaire, which aims to assess market capabilities.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in data management, animal health services, and technical support. Companies with capabilities in relational database operations and experience in agriculture-related sectors are well-suited to participate. The project encompasses maintaining livestock records, facilitating compliance with legal requirements, and providing expert advice through a dedicated helpdesk. This offers potential growth for businesses looking to expand their service offerings within the public health and agricultural sectors.
