Summary of the contracting process

The University of Strathclyde is currently in the tender stage for a contract concerning the maintenance of fire alarm, emergency voice communication, and extinguishing systems on its campus from 2025 to 2029. This open procedure seeks to engage service providers under a measured term contract valued at £1,350,009. The contract will cover two primary lots: ADT systems and Non-ADT systems, which encompass maintenance, inspection, and repairs across academic settings in Glasgow, specifically in UKM82. Interested suppliers must submit their proposals through electronic submission by the deadline of 22nd September 2025 at 12:00 PM, and the contract is expected to start immediately after this date.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in security and fire protection systems, particularly those with expertise in maintenance, testing, and urgent repair services. Companies with experience in handling complex security apparatus, familiarity with manufacturers like ADT, Gent, and Apollo, and the capability to provide rapid response to system faults will find this contract well-suited to their offerings. The University is particularly interested in businesses demonstrating both technical proficiency and competitive pricing, illustrated by a scoring emphasis of 30% on technical and 70% on price criteria. Additionally, the contract facilitates potential extensions, allowing companies to establish long-term engagements with the university, offering sustained business growth and community involvement through its associated benefits programme.
