Summary of the contracting process

NHS National Services Scotland is procuring facilities disposable products for use across the NHS Scotland estate. The requirement covers six product areas: disposable polythene aprons and bibs; water-soluble laundry bags; disposable multipurpose cleaning cloths; scouring pads; floor pads for rotary floor scrubbers operating at up to 600 rpm; and basins, buckets and pedal bins. The arrangement is intended for NHS Scotland health boards, special health boards, other NHS organisations, integrated joint boards and Scottish hospices. Delivery is across Scotland. The open procedure is complete and the framework has been awarded, with active contracts signed on 14 August 2026. The estimated procurement value was £10,000,000. The tender deadline was amended twice, first from 22 December 2025 to 19 January 2026 and then to 2 February 2026; bids were opened at the tender deadline. Each lot runs for 1,440 days, with a two-year fixed term and two 12-month renewals. Evaluation weighted technical quality and price at 40% and 60% for lots 1 and 2, and 20% and 80% for lots 3 to 6.

A credible future supplier would need dependable manufacture or sourcing, consistent product quality and the capacity to supply multiple Scottish healthcare authorities through a coordinated distribution operation.
