Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Police Authority is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the replacement of their Intelligence Management System (IMS), which aims to upgrade their Scottish Intelligence Database (SID). This public order and safety-focused procurement is categorised under the goods industry and is based in Glasgow, UK. A Request for Information (RFI) has been issued to gather insights and potential solutions before an Invitation to Tender (ITT) is released, anticipated in January 2027. Key dates include the publication of the Prior Information Notice on 27th May 2026, suppliers need to request the RFI document by 1st June 2026, with clarifications due by 15th June 2026, and responses by 7th August 2026.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in software solutions, project management, testing, and data migration. Companies that can provide comprehensive support and maintenance services, along with innovative insights, would find this procurement particularly beneficial for growth. Collaboration with the Scottish Police Authority could also enhance the credibility and portfolio of suppliers who successfully engage with this high-profile project, potentially opening doors to further similar opportunities in the public order and safety sector.
