Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is currently in the tender stage for a procurement titled "Fire Alarm Design, Installation, and Associated Project Management Services DPS." This procurement process aims to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to manage these services across Scotland, focusing on compliance with relevant fire safety legislation and standards. The primary industry category is general public services, with an emphasis on safety installations and project management. The procurement approach involves a restricted procedure, and submissions are accepted electronically. The tender period ends on 27th June 2031, providing a substantial window for participation. This procurement could be a valuable opportunity for businesses that provide specialised services in fire alarm design, installation, and project management, especially those with experience handling complex legislative compliance in the UK market.

The DPS is divided into two lots: Lot 1 focuses on Fire Alarm Design and Installation, and Lot 2 covers Associated Project Management Services. The lots allow for a range of project values, presenting opportunities for small to large-scale enterprises. Businesses with strong backgrounds in electrical installation, engineering, or architecture and those holding necessary certifications, such as BAFE SP203-1 and UKAS accreditation, are well-positioned to compete. Engaging in this tender can help firms showcase their expertise, expand their portfolio of government projects, and build long-term collaborations with the Scottish Government, potentially leading to recurring business and growth in related sectors.
