Summary of the contracting process

The City of Edinburgh Council is procuring services for its electric vehicle fleet at council depots in Edinburgh. The requirement is divided into two areas: a charge point management system, including management software and associated services, and operation and maintenance for a mixture of depot AC and DC chargers. The work covers both the software platform used to manage charging infrastructure and the practical servicing needed to keep the chargers operating. This is a services procurement for suppliers specialising in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, charge point management systems, software support, field maintenance or related fleet-energy operations. Businesses may bid for either area or both, with the Council seeking provision for its own depot-based fleet charging network.

They must commit to paying directly involved staff, agency workers and subcontractors at least the Real Living Wage, and to including prompt-payment provisions for subcontractors throughout the supply chain. Community benefits are sought for Lot 2.
