Kent community health NHS foundation trust provides a range of community service interventions/treatments to patients in their own homes, this includes patients who due to health complications have restricted mobility, or are bed bound, preventing them from transferring safely from bed to chair or bed to bed. To optimise the care provided to these patients there is a requirement to provide medical beds and mattresses to ensure that the patient remains safe during this period of care, including support to help the clinicians, patient and family manage in end of life care. The aim of this procurement is to procure a provider who can attend independently to provide a service for the safe transfer of patients, either bed bound or those with restricted mobility preventing the patient from transferring safely, within their own home setting. The consultant will undertake the first 2 of 3 stages of an area wide design code for each of the 5 Authorities. The project will focus on methods to develop the skills of Officers and communities to help create effective ways of engaging with local communities to input into the production of design codes possibly through toolkits, events and community panels. Another element to the project will be to establish ways of digitising the final design codes and engaging with communities in the process.
