Notice Information
Notice Title
Heritage at Risk goes to the movies 2019
Notice Description
Project Background: Historic England's cultural programme for 2019 surrounds the concept of 'Loss and Destruction'. This taps in to our organisation's core mission: to prevent the loss and destruction of heritage and encourage its care and protection. HAR at the movies is where Historic England hosts pop-up film screenings inside 'at risk' historic properties during the summer. HAR stands for Heritage At Risk - sites around the country that Historic England specialists deem at risk of being lost as a result of neglect, decay or inappropriate development. These properties do not usually screen films, so it is an opportunity for the public to experience heritage in a new way and foster an appreciation for heritage protection and conservation. For more information on HAR visit https://historicengland.org.uk/advice/heritage-at-risk/ HAR at the Movies is one strand of Historic England's 2019 cultural programme, anchored by our work with the Imperial War Museum on the exhibition What Remains, running from July 2019 - January 2020. Other related programme activity includes Projections (a poetry commission projected onto cathedrals that suffered bombing during the second world war) and 'Love Letters' - a campaign around Valentine's Day where celebrities inspire the public to write digital love letters to places that are special to them. Additional information: As per attached documents Is a Recurrent Procurement Type? : No
