Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Historic England-Planning inviting tenders for a framework to provide metric survey services on historic sites and monuments, classified under Museum services and preservation services of historical sites and buildings. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the contract is set to commence on 1 April 2018, lasting for three years, with the possibility of a one-year extension. The end date for the tender submission period was 15 January 2018, and the estimated annual expenditure is around £100,000. The services will also be accessible to English Heritage and Historic Environment Scotland.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in metric survey services, such as aerial photography, topographic surveying, and historical building surveys. Companies equipped with advanced surveying technology, photogrammetry skills, and a sound understanding of heritage conservation will be particularly well-suited to compete. The anticipated engagement of 4-6 suppliers per category indicates a favourable environment for growth and collaboration within the industry.
