Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, titled "NHSX Market Engagement for GP Cloud Telephony for NHS Organisations," is conducted by NHS England and Improvement as part of a planned market engagement exercise to inform the national strategy for general practice. The process falls under the services category within the IT sector and aims to gather insights from interested suppliers regarding new standards and capabilities. The timeline includes a crucial deadline for responses to the questionnaire set for 5pm on Friday 7th January 2022, with a follow-up report anticipated shortly thereafter. This exercise does not constitute a formal procurement process but rather seeks to gauge market interest and capabilities.

This opportunity presents a valuable chance for businesses within the IT services sector, particularly those specialising in consulting, software development, and telecommunications, to influence the future direction of general practice services. Companies that can provide innovative cloud telephony solutions, as well as those equipped to meet the proposed new standards, will find this engagement particularly relevant. Participation in this exercise may position these businesses favourably for future procurement opportunities linked to the evolving needs of NHS organisations.
