Summary of the contracting process

The most recent awarded contract summarized in the data involves UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), which awarded a contract for asbestos removal services titled "UKRI-4620 Asbestos Removal Services." The procurement falls within the service category of asbestos removal, conducted in Oxfordshire, specifically related to the STFC Estate. The contract, valued at £4,000,000, was signed on 16th May 2025 and is executed by European Asbestos Services Limited, highlighting the completion of the tender process under a selective and restricted procedure approach.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses involved in the asbestos removal and management sector looking to expand into governmental and large-scale projects. Companies with technical capabilities in planned and reactive asbestos removal works, able to utilize direct in-house labour, are particularly well-positioned to compete. Given the nature of the contract, emphasis on quality (75%) and cost (25%) provides an indication that high-standard service provision is deemed paramount, which suggests that established companies with comprehensive experience and qualifications in asbestos-related services can leverage this contract to grow their business portfolio across similar regional and organisational scopes.
