Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for "Textiles and Associated Products 2026," conducted by SUPPLY CHAIN COORDINATION LIMITED, involves an extensive framework agreement for supplying a wide range of textile products to the UK healthcare sector. The agreement includes non-clinical uniforms, workwear, footwear, non-clinical PPE, linen, towels, bedding, patient wear, shrouds, and miscellaneous textiles. The procurement, planned to commence in the summer of 2025, follows an open procedure method and is spearheaded by the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative, acting on behalf of the buyer from London. This process incorporates various procurement stages, including planning, tender, and award, with key dates such as the standstill period ending on December 24, 2025, and the contract period spanning from April 20, 2026, to April 19, 2030. The projected expenditure is approximately £88,358,400 (including VAT) over 48 months, with a gross contract value of £88358400.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses within the textile and healthcare sectors, offering potential for substantial growth through a non-exclusive framework agreement. SMEs are encouraged to participate, given the substantial emphasis on social value, resilience, and technical competence, with ISO9001:2015 or equivalent certifications recommended for compliance. The procurement method employed ensures that participating entities eligible under the framework include NHS Trusts, other NHS entities, government bodies, and private healthcare firms across the UK. The varied lots cater to those specialising in garments, footwear, protective equipment, linens, and miscellaneous textiles, making it an ideal opportunity for both small and large-scale suppliers to join the healthcare supply chain. The focus on compliance with modern slavery and carbon reduction plans further emphasises the stakeholder commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainability, enhancing the appeal for responsible suppliers.
