Notice Title

Cadw Myths and Legends, North Wales Podcast Project with Youth Sheds

Notice Description

* We, at Cadw Lifelong Learning, would like to procure the services of an inspirational dramaturg, writer and workshop leader to create twelve bespoke podcasting workshops followed up by three tailored scripts and final podcast recordings. The project will be working with three north Wales Youth Shed groups with young people who have or are experiencing challenges with confidence and mental health.* This leader must have a track record in working with teenagers/young adults and have a good understanding of the background of historical Wales and its folklore and legends. This person will be required to take the young people on a journey of exploration and research within their own communities to discover their local Myths and Legends. The initial workshops will be to: support the young people to research, create and evidence an archive of their findings, whilst building their confidence, self-esteem and skill sets.* The archival evidence of the young people's work should then be created into three different radio scripts for each geographical area. There should then be a further nine workshops where the young people can both perform (with direction and guidance) and record their podcasts (with a professional sound engineer, secured by yourself).* The final outcome of the project will be research/scripted/performed and recorded podcasts for each geographical area of the Youth Shed, incorporating the heritage and culture of Wales within the creative process.* Outcomes:* All this will be done with the young people at the heart of the project: improving their knowledge and sense of place/Cynefin, wellbeing and confidence whilst building upon life skills and experience.* The physical outcome will be something that has a digital legacy both on the Youth Shed websites, possible radio broadcast and Cadw's own lifelong learning project pages and YouTube.* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable
