Lot Information

See additional information below (Section II.2.14)

The Library envisages the setting up of a framework call-off contract for 'imaging systems' capable of delivering on the project requirements. The framework contract will run for 4 years. Approximately 4 'imaging systems' will be required on award of the contract (if awarded) with a further 16 'imaging systems' "called - off" from the framework over the framework period. Please note that these figures are indicative only. It is also envisaged that the framework contract will include for a fully managed support and maintenance contract, covering part and labour that may be of a proactive or reactive basis as well as consumables. The Library holds a great range of paper-based materials that are to be converted into digital image files. The material to be converted is varied in height, width, and thickness, quality and colour of paper print quality. The scope of the content of the material for digitisation is wide-ranging, and includes printed and written text, line-drawings, illustrations, photographs, half-tone prints, plates, and fold-outs. Part of the selected material is contemporary, while the other part consists of Rare Books and Manuscript material. These books can be tightly bound, or with text running close to the gutter of the binding. To ensure there is no damage to the spines of the bound material, the material to be digitised needs to be supported / protected by a supporting / cradling system or mechanism that is adjustable and moveable as a minimum from left to right to ensure the material is autocentred.. Lotting structure is still to be determined. A Request for Information and Response document is available for download with this PIN. responses received to the RFI may inform the lotting structure
