The solution will have a minimum data rate of 18MB/S (suitable for HD streaming). Each Access Point connected by gigabit fibre optic network using Star topology (minimum 8 core) and 240VAC and should have provision for future expansion. The solution should cater for 8000 simultaneous clients allowing a minimum 200 connections/unit. A minimum 1GB internet uplink/gateway throughput will be required for the public service. The resulting open access end-to-end fibre infrastructure is envisaged to act as a catalyst for Dundee City Council to be part of a consortium to bid for future 5G testbed funding in collaboration with industry and academia. The Council may choose to seek bidders that have established relationships with the current core DCMS 5G testbed partners. Continuing maintenance and support for seven years. A drawing showing the required coverage area and delivery phases is attached. Any interested parties can contact for further information which will then be shared via the Public Contracts Scotland portal.
