Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is initiating a public procurement process for the "Publishing, Print, Design & Associated Services (PPDAS) 2018" framework. This tender is aimed at providing a fully managed and accessible publishing, print, and design service on a 24/7 basis for the entire Scottish Public Sector. The procurement is currently at the award stage, with an estimated value of £70 million. The submission of tenders closed on 16 April 2018, and the contract is set to commence on 1 October 2018, lasting initially for five years, with a potential two-year extension. This project is classified under the services industry and is located in Scotland.

This framework agreement presents significant opportunities for businesses in the print and design sector, particularly SMEs that can manage large-scale service provision. Companies that have experience in publishing, high-quality design, or print services would be well-suited to compete, especially those capable of delivering services efficiently on a large scale. Moreover, the procurement process emphasises community benefits, indicating that engaging with this project could facilitate additional growth avenues through contracted work opportunities and partnerships with local organisations.
