    "description": "North Lanarkshire Council maintains a range of security and safety systems relating to all of the lots in the scope of this procurement project. It now wishes to enter into a single source long term agreement of between five and seven years which will after an initial \"break-fix\" period which is intended to last for no longer than two years, develop an integrated and open protocol approach enabling rationalisation of its security and safety estate, reflecting developing best-practice and technological progress. It has an estate of approximately 36,000 residential properties with the potential contract requiring to service and maintain 48 high rise towers, 1500 low rise blocks, 35 Sheltered complexes, 158 schools, 46 operational buildings, and other specific commercial and residential properties across its property portfolio. It also has a public space CCTV network operating within its boundaries consisting of in the region of 800 networked cameras managed from a central facility at Coatbridge. It now wishes to engage with suitably experienced and qualified providers with a proven track record of success in this area of work in order to determine the most appropriate approach to provision and development of these services over the next five to seven years. It is envisaged that suitably qualified interested parties will be afforded the opportunity to individually present the Council with their views on market and technological developments and solutions which will enable the Council to embark on the above mentioned competition. Presentations are planned to take place on 16th August 2018 at North Lanarkshire Council HQ, Motherwell. Interested parties must note their interest in this opportunity no later than Noon on Monday 30th July, and must provide evidence of their successful record of delivering major projects of this nature. Only five places are available which will be allocated to the first five applicants presenting reasonable evidence of their qualifications and experience in this field. Interested parties should note that this does not form part of a formal selection stage and participation or otherwise in this event will have no influence in respect of a tenderer's participation or success in any subsequent formal competition.
