Summary of the contracting process

The Cairngorms National Park Authority is currently conducting a tender process titled "Cyclist Public Repair Stations - Cycle Friendly Cairngorms," aimed at enhancing cycling facilities within the National Park region (UKM62). This procurement falls under the general public services category and is in the tender stage, with electronic submissions accepted until the deadline on 18 March 2026, at 10:00 AM. The contract is valued at £20,833 GBP and employs an open procedure method. The aim is to install at least three public repair stations for cyclists, with potential for additional units based on initial results and funding availability. The installations will be coordinated with community groups to serve key locations throughout the Cairngorms.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses that specialise in the supply and installation of cycling infrastructure, particularly those experienced in providing maintenance solutions for public cycling routes. Given the open procurement method, organisations that can deliver quality public repair stations and assist in boosting community cycling can leverage this contract to expand their portfolio and presence in the region. Businesses well-suited to this endeavour include those involved in outdoor equipment manufacturing and infrastructure development, offering scope for growth in the recreational and sustainable transportation sectors.

Notice Title

Cyclist Public Repair Stations - Cycle Friendly Cairngorms

Notice Description

The Cairngorms National Park Authority invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations to submit a tender for the provision of public repair stations for cyclists.

Lot Information

Lot 1

Through the Cairngorms 2030 Cycle Friendly Cairngorms programme, the Cairngorms National Park Authority intends to install public repairs stands across the National Park at key locations. The aim is to enable residents and visitors to travel confidently by cycle knowing that if they need them, they can make minor adjustments to their cycles whilst out cycling. Previous experience has shown that these maintenance stands are popular not only with cyclists but also with others using wheeled machines such as wheelchairs and off-road buggies/pushchairs, particularly the inclusion of a means to inflate their tyres. The contractor will be required to supply and install, a minimum of three (3) public repair stations with the potential for further units to be supplied and installed subject to the success of the initial installations and availability of funding. The timing and location of installations will be agreed with the National Park Authority and relevant community groups.

Renewal: The Park Authority anticipates that the overall value of the contract (not limited nor guaranteed) shall be of GBP 10,000 (exclusive of VAT) with a potential extension up to GBP 20,833 over the three-year term of the contract, subject to funding availability and meeting the performance requirements.
