East West Rail is an ambitious project that involves bringing back into use a section of railway that was closed to passengers in the 1960s, refurbishing existing railway lines between Oxford and Bedford, as well as building brand new railway infrastructure between Bedford and Cambridge. East West Railway Company (EWR Co) was set up as an innovative new way to deliver this project with a customer focus and excellent value-for-money. Lot 1

EWR Co intends to procure suitably experienced organisation(s), with the experience, capacity and capability of successfully designing and building a new railway network across a live railway environment (online) and greenfield site (offline) with extensive interfaces and stakeholders. Successful bidder(s) will be required to deliver within budget and programme; this will include the design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover into service in addition to associated works and services. EWR Co is interested in exploring innovative methods of working and adopting a systems approach to infrastructure (enterprise architecture). Interested suppliers from industries outside of infrastructure delivery are encouraged to engage and respond to this PIN and supplier questionnaire.
