When operational, the new FID systems will provide Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) and Aerodrome Flight Information Service Officers (AFISOs) with enhanced situational awareness via the display of an integrated, cooperative real time air picture. This project, which represents a significant investment by HIAL, supports the UK Airspace Modernisation Strategy (AMS) and will provide enhanced safety and efficiency benefits whilst achieving best value for investment. The Project aims to deliver FIDS to Kirkwall, Dundee and Stornoway Airports in financial year 2023/2024, and to Benbecula, Islay and Wick John O'Groats Airports in 2024/2025. Additional information: The contract includes options for the provision of support, maintenance and spares for the estimated 15 year lifecycle of the systems.",
