The tendering process has reached the tender stage, with key dates to note: expression of interest deadline is 18 March 2026, and the award period concludes on 17 August 2027. This process is centred in the UK and is classified under the services category. The contract will commence on 1 February 2028, offering a potential value of £2,300,000,000 with options for extensions up to three additional years. The selected procurement method is selective, utilising a competitive flexible procedure. The initial implementation phase will focus on Wales and South-West England starting 1 December 2028, followed by the remainder of England on 30 March 2030.

Businesses offering innovative solutions, technical competencies, and collaborative capabilities will find apt opportunities here, especially in areas like sustainability, stakeholder management, and water supply security. Companies capable of supporting MOD's strategic goals through innovation and efficient resource management are encouraged to participate, ensuring readiness to adapt to defence needs and geopolitical influences.
