Summary of the contracting process

Kent County Council is currently in the planning stage for a procurement process titled "Home Safety and Security Installation Service," within the services industry category. The procurement focuses on developing a service to enhance security in domestic settings across the region of South East England, specifically UKJ4. The proposed initiative is slated to start on 1st November 2027 and will conclude by 31st October 2030, with a potential two-year extension option. An estimated contract value is up to £500,000 annually. To inform the future development of this service, Kent County Council will be conducting preliminary market engagement events on 25th August and 4th September 2026; interested parties need to express interest by 21st August 2026. This planning process aligns with the Procurement Act 2023, ensuring a competitive tendering environment.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for enterprises specialising in providing security, safety installations, and related consultancy services. Businesses with a proven track record in delivering property security measures, especially those familiar with trauma-informed, discreet, and professional service delivery, stand to benefit. Companies within the domestic abuse, community safety, housing, and safeguarding sectors might find this opportunity advantageous. Additionally, businesses experienced in partnership working with statutory and voluntary sector services could significantly contribute to the discussions and the eventual service delivery. The market engagement phase allows these organisations to shape the procurement landscape, potentially influencing eligibility criteria, delivery models, and partnership frameworks, thereby fostering growth and expanding their service portfolios.
