Summary of the contracting process

ESPO is currently in the Award stage of its procurement process for the "676_20 Facilities Management Services" contract, which is part of the Facilities Management industry category. This initiative aims to establish a multi-supplier framework agreement, catering to a wide range of facilities management needs across public bodies throughout the UK. The framework includes three Lots based on contract value, with a total estimated value of £500 million. Key deadlines include the tender submission closing date of 11 March 2021, while the contract period spans from 1 May 2021 to 30 April 2024. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, allowing for transparency and competitive bidding among interested suppliers.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in facilities management services, especially those capable of delivering a comprehensive range of services as outlined in the tender specifications. Companies of various sizes, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector enterprises (VCSEs), are encouraged to participate, provided they can satisfy the mandatory requirement to offer at least 75% of the requested services. This contract not only enables bidders to expand their market presence within the public sector but also allows them to engage with ESPO’s commercial trading arm, potentially opening further avenues for collaboration with third sector organisations.
