Summary: Business Services Organisation, Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS), acting for Health and Social Care Northern Ireland, is examining requirements for healthcare waste services. The scope covers collecting and transporting healthcare waste, followed by treatment and disposal, recycling or recovery. It includes clinical, biological, medical, toxic, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, as well as related refuse transport, recycling, incineration and waste-transfer activities. The requirement may also involve waste-collection vehicles, incinerators, transfer stations, recycling equipment and management of waste facilities. This is a Northern Ireland health and social care requirement, with PaLS managing the procurement on behalf of HSCNI. Suppliers operating across healthcare waste logistics and compliant treatment or recovery routes are the natural market for this work.
